Omega Nutrition's powerfully nutritious MCT oil contains a pure blend of medium chain triglycerides: 50% are caprylic (C8:0) and the other 50% are capric (C10:0) fatty acids sourced from palm kernel and coconut oil.
It couldn’t be easier to use Omega Nutrition's MCT Oil. Simply take 1-2 tablespoons daily to help sustain energy and burn excess fat. (Initially start with 1 teaspoonful.)
MCT oil can be used in salad dressings, added to soups or used in lieu of saturated fats in your diet. It is best to take in the morning, with or without food, and you may want to take another tablespoon before a strenuous workout.
Caution: If you are diabetic or suffer from liver disease, you should consult your health practitioner before consuming MCT oil.

We are selective in the brands which we stock. We look for products that use high quality ingredients and we against the use of fillers, herbicides, pesticides and artificial colourings and flavourings to name but a few. These values are not only important to us but also to our suppliers.
We understand the wealth of information and mis-information available on the subject of health. Although the brain relies primarily on glucose for energy, it can also use fuels such as monocarboxylic acids, lactate and ketones to maintain energy homeostasis. Studies suggest that medium chain fatty acids can cross the blood-brain barrier (BBB) and be oxidised by the brain. Therefore, medium chain fatty acids may provide a direct brain fuel source via the generation of ketones without raising blood glucose levels.
Consumption of a diet rich in MCT oil results in a greater loss of adipose tissue due to increased energy expenditure and fat oxidation. In a recent study, MCT oil was proven more effective in weight loss in a control group consuming MCT oil as opposed to a group consuming olive oil when part of a weight loss program. MCT oil can be incorporated into your diet simply by switching out your current cooking oil.
MCT oil works in the digestive tract by increasing coverage of energy needs by fat. MCT oil is a practical way of protecting the liver and intestine during endotoxemia. An animal study found that rats that developed liver disease from corn oil consumption were associated with a decreased death rate when given MCT oil. They also have protective effects on the gut.
When compared to long chain fatty acids, medium chain fatty acids were shown to accelerate intestinal transit and stimulate the release of gut hormone secretion. MCT oil also prevents hepatic energy charge and gut injuries. In the liver, MCT oil prevents injury by inhibiting activation of the Kupffer cell. MCT oil also prevents free radical formation in the liver caused by alcohol consumption.
In cells, MCT oil may promote stability, membrane fluidity, cell mobility, formation of receptors, binding of ligands to their receptors, gene expression, and cell differentiation (Kono et al, 2008).
Nutritional studies have shown that medium chain triglycerides may have a positive effect on aging. Arteriosclerosis is a normal aging process which is due to age-associated molecular biological changes. According to an animal study, rats that were fed MCTs had lower body weight and fat deposits, as well as excellent survival skills. The same rats were also associated with lower linoleate requirements, which may lead to the presence of fewer uncontrolled free radicals in cells.
Furthermore, Sri Lanka is the only country giving reliable data where coconut oil (containing over 50 percent medium chain fatty acids) is the main dietary fat. As a result, the Demographic Yearbook of the United Nations (1978) reported that Sri Lanka has the lowest death rate from ischemic heart disease.
